Gas Detection Equipment

PGD 2 Status Mentor Gas Detector

The Mentor portable gas detector is a multi-gas unit for the detection and monitoring of potentially hazardous atmospheres. It continually monitors for oxygen deficiency and enrichment, hydrogen sulphide and explosive gases. By charging sensors or recalibration, the unit can be used to monitor other toxic and explosive gases. Although the detector is very light and compact it is extremely durable, and the sensor elements are positioned at the sides making them less likely to suffer water damage from splashes.

The LCD display can be set up to give a continuous readout of all sensor outputs or merely read "healthy" thus removing the element of judgement by inexperienced operatives. When set to full display the unit has a peak readings facility which allows the user to take remote readings with the display "holding" the worst situation it has encountered.

The push button menu scrolls through the instrument's serial number, time, date, and calibration due date. The unit can also display short term and long term exposure levels.

The large red dome on the instrument holds flashing LEDs which coupled with the loud piezo sounder give a clear warning when an alarm condition is encountered.

The Mentor has an automatic calibration facility. The calibration unit interfaces with a computer and printer to give a unique, dedicated and totally traceable calibration report.

The rechargeable battery provides power for a minimum of 12 hours use and recharges in 8 hours. The Mentor has a very robust rubber carrying case which offers excellent protection to the instrument whilst in use. A strong polypropylene transit box is used for transporting the unit and charger safely.
