The BEH Control Panel is designed for use in breathing air systems to reduce the air pressure from high pressure storage cylinders to supply airline breathing apparatus. The panel can be used in airtrailer or trolley applications or can control a bank of breathing air cylinders supplying a fixed breathing air system.
The panel is divided into two separate but interconnected sections. There are 3 high pressure inlets to the working section, which has 2 parallel pressure reducing valves of a failsafe no diaphragm design.
Each inlet supply is fitted with a non-return valve to prevent the storage cylinders equalising pressures and to isolate each supply in case of air loss from a supply line. The non-return valves allow cylinders to be systematically replaced whilst the panel is still in use without interfering with the supply from the other cylinders.
The working section has 100mm diameter gauges to show cylinder contents and line (outlet) pressure. There are two pneumatic warning whistles fitted. The cylinder contents warning whistle sounds at a pressure of 45 bar which will give different warning periods dependent upon cylinder size. The line pressure warning whistle will warn of a dangerously low outlet pressure, and sound if the line pressure falls to below 4 bar. A Diktron intrinsically safe battery powered, audible and visual alarm can be fitted if required.
The emergency section of the panel has a separate inlet supply and an outlet which is interconnected to the outlets of the working section, isolated by a ¼ turn valve. If for any reason the working section of the panel should fail to supply air then by simply turning the full flow ¼ turn valve on, an emergency supply can be provided from the emergency section.
Whilst the emergency section, like the working section, has two gauges it does not have warning whistles. The two hose outlets from the emergency panel can be used for a standby safety man as a supply for airline breathing apparatus where the entrance to a vessel for example, is too small for entry with self contained breathing apparatus.
The control panel complies with European Council Directive 89/686/EEC and with EN139 with certificate of conformity No 990919.
Control Panels can also be supplied without an emergency facility.
